Your pooch and cat will have a spot in heaven, well this is according to pope Francis who promised that all animals will go to heaven.
According to media reports, Pope Francis made the announcement after his encounter with a young boy who was mourning the death of his dog.
Italian news outlets are reporting that Pope Francis told the boy during his weekly Vatican address in St. Peter’s Square that “paradise is open to all of God creatures.”
“One day, we will see our animals again in the eternity of Christ,” said Pope Francis who is the leader of the Catholic Church.
The catholic community has in the past had a long-standing debate surrounding animals on whether or not they can and should go to heaven. In-fact Pope Francis predecessor Pope Benedict XVI in 2008 said that when animal dies it “just means the end of existence on earth.”
The Pope’s sentiments are already being hailed by various right groups for animals, for instance, The Human Society of the United States, as well as the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
This is not the first time that Pope Francis’s words or statements have created a lot of buzz in-fact he is been known for his liberal approach ever since he took charge in March 2013.
